The NSW Government has committed $712 million to the public school fund.  This comes after the Federal government’s new education model was not signed.  Now that the funding has been set in place the NSW government will sign up to the new deal. NSW Education Minister Rob Stokes said, “We were determined in this deal to ensure public schools were not treated as second-class citizens.” Premier Gladys Berejiklian said that an extra $6.4 billion will be put into public schools over the deal’s 10-year lifespan.
